Top Sights in the Town of Zug and its Surroundings:

  • Old Town Zug – Discover the beautiful little alleys and squares at the Lakeside. Visit some of the shops offering local traditional handicraft and products or relax in one of the nice cafés with a piece of Zuger Kirschtorte! www.zug-altstadt.ch
  • Zytturm – The Zytturm is the town`s landmark. Its origins date back to the 13th Century. During the renaissance the tower received the shape it still has today. The most interesting thing about it is its astronomical clock. Four hands showing sun, moon, an arrow and an S indicate month, weekday and leap years. The weekdays are represented by figures of their eponymous gods. Further Information
  • Zugerberg – The mountain overlooking the town is easily reached. The view up there is magnificent. The nice, almost alpine landscape is a perfect place to recover for a short while. www.zbb.ch
  • Höllgrotten – The caves Höllgrotten near Baar have only been discovered at the end of the 19th Century. Small lakes, as well as stalagmites an stalactites in different colours make it worth seeing. They can be visited on paths leading through them. www.hoellgrotten.ch
